Seeking female volunteers to come emphasize the importance of health and confidence to young women through a special day of fitness, health, and self-esteem boosting events on Saturday, March 13, 2010! It only takes one spark to IGNITE a fire. It only takes one spark to EXCITE a passion for healthy living. It only takes one spark to BUILD the glow of self confidence. Come join a bunch of us Divas for an amazing day of fun where you can ignite, excite, and build a spark!

Live Well Project Info . . .
In San Diego, there are between 1,500 and 2,000 young adults without a home. Some run away from abusive homes, some have lost their families to illness or violence. These young adults need support, education, inspiration, leadership, empowerment, and awareness. Optimal Nutrition, LandMarK Events, & Olive PR believes that our expertise in passion for health & fitness can help to achieve these goals. Many underprivileged young individuals lack basic knowledge of health and fitness. Learning to nourish and strengthen their bodies is an important step in taking control of their lives.

Youth on the street often turn to drugs, alcohol, and violence as an escape from what may seem like unchangeable circumstances. Those who are taken into shelters have been blessed with the opportunity to rise from adversity. The next step is to empower them with the knowledge and confidence they need to build better lives for themselves.

It only takes a spark! A glimpse of the benefits of health and an assurance that it can be achieved simply with adequate knowledge opens up doors: new friends, curiosity of more health education, easy & inexpensive cooking techniques, seeking out mentors, being challenged, new horizons and boundless opportunities. Most importantly, it paves the road to emotional and physical well-being.

Our Team wants to emphasize the importance of health and confidence to young women through a special day of fitness, health, and self-esteem boosting events. Our target group is 12-19 year old inner city girls. The mission is impart the knowledge that a parent would: how to take care of oneself physically and emotionally. This day will include activities related to feeling attractive, fitness, and healthy eating. Giveaways and prizes will include: clothing, grooming kits, manicure/pedicure, hair styling, dental and make-up service gift certificates. We will create a fun and educational environment with talks/seminars on healthy eating and volunteer-lead exercise groups. Donations from nutritional, local fitness facilities, clothing and sporting companies will provide the guests with tangible memories of the day!

A very special service provided will be to give each girl a “mentor for a day.” Each young woman will be paired with a local female entrepreneur to question, confide in, and learn from. We hope to foster connections that will span beyond just this day, giving these girls a knowledge and accessible woman to inspire, educate and support them.
